We see the impacts of climate change in the news every day – hurricanes, floods, droughts and wildfires. We also hear that the cause of climate change, the concentration of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere, continues to grow. We must act faster to reduce the burning of fossil fuels.
Using greater scientific understanding and sophisticated analyses, the Union of Concerned Scientists has a plan for achieving our clean energy goals. They show the risks of unproven technologies proposed by the fossil fuel industry. Get the facts: For better evaluation of fossil fuel industry proposals for clean energy, UCS analyzed how different uses of hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, and biomethane affect climate pollution and other impacts. Their findings are clear: “clean energy wins across the board when compared against proposals that require the full ongoing use of gas plants.” Read more.
We all can make a difference. Vote for candidates who support clean energy. Write your legislative representatives and tell them how you feel and what you want them to do. The solution to the climate change problem is NOT “Drill, baby, drill.
