The Season of Creation, September 1st through October 4th, is celebrated by Christians around the world as a time for renewing, repairing and restoring our relationship to God, one another, and all of creation. The Social Justice Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of El Camino Real has planned two offerings to engage the faith-rooted foundations of Creation Care.

Genesis 2:15 Conference: Spiritual Foundations of Creation Care and Creation Justice
September 20, 2025 at Church of the Good Shepherd, Salinas
Refreshments from 9:30am. Program 10am – 3pm.
Genesis proclaims a clear and sacred call: Tend and keep the garden. Be caretakers of all God has made. What does this mean in our contemporary world where intersecting crises – social, political, economic, and ecological – demand urgent, faithful attention? Payton Hoegh, Program Director for the Center for Spirituality in Nature, is our keynote speaker for a day of thoughtful dialogue, spiritual connection, and contemplative practice to examine and engage the faith-rooted foundations of Creation Care and the powerful ways ecological healing intersects with all issues of justice. Join in discussions of how other churches have taken action. Plan for your own action as an individual or in community. Tend to your soul, connect in community, and imagine how we can heal, together.
