Practical and Spiritual guidance for living into our Baptismal Covenant

We live in a time when political values are in direct opposition to gospel values. Many of us are discouraged and feel that there is little we can do to make a difference even as we see our neighbors being arrested, government programs decimated and the environment devastated. Yet our baptismal covenant calls us to persevere in resisting evil, to strive for justice and peace among all people and respect the dignity of every human being, so we cannot simply step aside.

This workshop will:

• Help you discern how God is calling you to use your gifts
• Provide you with tools to live into your baptismal covenant, rooted in nonviolence
• Give you hope for the possibilities that God can open

Everyone is welcome. Come as you are. Please consider bringing friends from your congregation or community so that you will have a network of support.

The workshop leader will be The Rev. Jaime Edwards-Acton. Jaime has been Rector of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church for over 20 years, a vibrant, bilingual, multi-cultural congregation in the heart of Hollywood. Jaime is co-chair of Sacred Resistance in the Diocese of Los Angeles.

We understand… a call to stand in resistance to the systemic evils that oppress and marginalize any member of our human family – including but not limited to racism, sexism, nativism, homophobia, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia.
